MACHINE-CUT VINYL DECAL
DO-IT-YOURSELF
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

INSTRUCTIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR USE WITH
ALL "MACHINE-CUT VINYL DECALS" ON THIS WEBSITE
WITH A PRODUCT CODE OF "D-XXXX".

THESE INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT APPLY FOR ANY OTHER PRODUCTS.
(If you purchased a product code that DOES NOT begin with a "D-", these instructions are not for you!)

THESE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE PRINTED
FOR USE DURING INSTALLATION.

Please read these instructions all way through before starting. YOU ARE COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF YOUR MACHINE-CUT VINYL DECAL PURCHASE AS WELL AS THE QUALITY OF THE FINAL RESULT. If you mess up, it is your loss . . . so take your time!

TOOLS NEEDED:

  • Paper towels
  • A credit card or stiff plastic card like a drivers license
  • big needle
  • window cleaner
  • Measuring tape and masking tape are recommended but not required.

FOR BEST RESULTS:

  • Surface temperature should be above 50 degrees F. and below 90 degrees F. If necessary move vehicle to a location where the temperature can be within the installation guide lines.
  • The surface must be clean and free of all waxes, oil and dirt.
  • All stickers are designed to be installed on the outside of the vehicle.
  • All sticker must be installed in a shaded area and not under direct sun light.

GENERAL EXPLANATION:

Vinyl comes on it's own backing paper. The lettering or graphic image is die-cut into the vinyl, and then all the vinyl that doesn't belong is removed by hand. Then the vinyl image is sandwiched between it's own backing paper and a layer of application tape. The application tape holds the vinyl image together while you place it onto the destination surface. Once the image is placed as desired and pressed on, the application tape is then removed - leaving only the die-cut vinyl image.

These decals come to you in three layers. The top layer is called transfer tape. It looks somewhat like regular masking tape. The middle layer is the actual decal. The bottom layer is a backing paper treated with a release agent.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1
Clean Window ( or other surface ) thoroughly. Be sure to turn the cloth several times to insure thorough cleaning and wax removal

Step 2
Place graphic on desired surface and tape to the surface with masking tape across the top, creating a hinge. Masking tape is optional, and not usually necessary for small decals.

Step 3
Flip graphic up. Using a sharp angle, start in a corner and peel away the image's backing. Keep the vinyl (on the application-tape) pinned back with your finger and pull paper backing off CAREFULLY, exposing adhesive.

Step 4
Hold graphic tautly by the corners and flip it back down so that the adhesive is against the surface. DO NOT LAY DOWN ALL AT ONCE! Hold the image at an angle above the destination-surface, and slowly, starting at the center, press down the image from the center out using the credit card or your hand. With firm pressure ( use driver license or credit card), rub graphic area from center out to edges forcing all air out. Any air bubbles will disappear.

Step 5
Wait a few minutes, then begin peeling the transfer tape off using a sharp angle. If the image comes off the surface (sticking to the transfer tape), simply lay back down and squeegee hard a few times, then try again to peel back the tape - remember, a sharp angle works best when separating vinyl from either the backing or the tape.

Step 6
Take your fingers and check all edges and make sure they are tight. If you have an air bubble, use a pin and poke a small hole, allowing air to escape. The bubbles may disappear after a day or two

Once the decal touches the glass or paint, it cannot be moved again!
